Welcome to The Quintessential Quartet

Amanda Rowden-Martin formed The Quintessential Quartet over 20 years ago from the string principals of the English Philharmonic Orchestra, and since then it has performed all over the country and abroad.

As well as playing for couples on their wedding day, The Quintessential Quartet has provided the music for special events at stately homes such as Spencer House, Castle Howard, and Kedleston Hall and many more, and at top London hotels including The Dorchester and The Savoy.

Among many prestigious functions, one particularly memorable one was Boy George's birthday party, for which Amanda arranged "Karma Chameleon" for the quartet to play especially for him!

The Quintessential Quartet is based in the Midlands and is therefore well placed to access most parts of the country.

The Quintessential Quartet has also travelled to Spain on several occasions to play in the Music in the Mountains concert series in The Alpujarra - look us up on YouTube - alpujarra hoy 2007. We are video numbers 1021, 1022, 1024 and 1025.

Making your special day perfect

The Quintessential Quartet is a popular choice for weddings, both Civil Ceremonies and Church Weddings.

We can play for your ceremony, drinks reception and wedding breakfast, or any combination, and we tailor a personal package to create your ideal day. The quartet is happy to relocate between venues (e.g. church and reception) and will move around for the different parts of your day. We are happy to play outside if the weather conditions allow.

The Quintessential Quartet has a huge repertoire so you can select music to suit your own style and create the atmosphere you want for your own wedding.
